FIELD TRIPS to Galena

Galena Creek Regional Park

Exploration School Field Trips

Our Naturalists at Galena Creek Visitor Center lead a variety of exploration field trips designed for K-12 grade students. Field trips dates are available in the Spring, Fall and Winter.

3-Hour Field Trip

An Unforgettable Outdoor Learning Experience

Camp activities, field trips, and guest speakers are subject to change based on availability, park regulations, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances.

Get outside and explore! Our 3-hour field trips give students the chance to learn about nature through hands-on activities, guided exploration, and real world science. Our Naturalists lead age appropriate activities that bring plants, animals, ecosystems, and environmental science to life.

Every STEAM activity is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and connects science, technology, engineering, art, and math to the world students can see and explore around them.

Explore Nature: Students investigate local habitats, plants, animals, and ecosystems while learning the 7 principles of Leave No Trace. Every field trip includes a guided hike led by one of our Naturalists, with opportunities to observe and investigate the environment along the way. Activities are tailored to different age groups and can support classroom curriculum and learning goals.

Dive Deep into Discovery

Camp activities, field trips, and guest speakers are subject to change based on availability, park regulations, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances.

Our 6-hour Extended Day Field Study gives students more time to explore, ask questions, and get to know the natural world around them. Led by our experienced Naturalists, students spend the day outside learning about local plants, animals, habitats, and ecosystems through hands-on activities and real world exploration.

All STEAM activities are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and can be tailored to different age groups and classroom learning goals.

Students will explore different habitats, investigate plants and animals, work on hands-on projects, and have plenty of time to get outside and move. Every field study includes a guided hike with a Naturalist.

Choose a single day or book multiple days in a row for a deeper, more connected field study experience.
